Community Cat Advocats

Community Cat Advocats is an all-volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to humanely addressing, controlling and managing the feral and free-roaming community cat population in the Winchester, Virginia area, through the process of Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return.

Welcome to the world of community cats!
You may have seen these free-roaming cats living behind businesses or in vacant lots or in neighborhoods. The term community cat encompasses everything from cats who have never been socialized with people (feral cats) to stray, more socialized cats who are abandoned or lost and are living their lives outdoors.

Regardless of their background, if they are not spayed or neutered, all community cats contribute to unwanted litters of kittens which leads to increased numbers of cats. With Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return, community cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered by a licensed veterinarian and vaccinated for rabies. The cats are then returned to the location where they were trapped where caretakers provide them with regular food and shelter.
